Every NOVA34 starts as one disc of chrome-molybdenum steel. The eleven steel sprockets are machined from it as one piece, so every cog sits exactly where it should.

Recommendations

Before installation, make sure the freehub body is clean, undamaged and compatible with the cassette
Install the cassette onto the freehub, carefully aligning the spline profiles and ensuring that the cassette is fully seated
Install the supplied lockring and tighten it using a suitable cassette tool and a torque wrench
Lockring tightening torque: 40 Nm
After installation, check that the cassette is securely mounted with no lateral play
Verify correct rear derailleur adjustment before riding
For best shifting performance, use a new compatible Shimano 12-speed chain with your new ALUGEAR cassette
A worn or excessively stretched chain can significantly reduce shifting quality and accelerate cassette wear
Regularly inspect the cassette and chain for wear. Replacing a worn chain in time will help extend the service life of the cassette
Keep the cassette and chain clean and properly chain lubricated
Periodically remove dirt and drivetrain residue using a neutral bicycle drivetrain cleaner
Avoid aggressive chemicals that may damage the surface treatment or anodized aluminium components

Construction

The ALUGEAR NOVA34 is a premium lightweight 12-speed road cassette developed for Shimano 12-speed road drivetrains. Designed to combine low weight, precise shifting and durability, NOVA34 weighs just 189g with an 11–34T range.

The idea behind NOVA34 started with a simple observation.
Riders looking to reduce drivetrain weight often face a compromise. Proven high-end cassettes deliver excellent shifting and durability, while ultra-light aftermarket alternatives push weight significantly lower - but can require compromises in performance or everyday usability.
ALUGEAR set out to bridge that gap.
Our goal was not simply to create a lighter cassette, but to combine low weight, precise shifting, durability and distinctive engineering in one complete product.
That philosophy became the cassette NOVA34.

Every detail has been engineered to achieve world-class shifting precision while maintaining the durability expected from a premium drivetrain component.
At just 189 grams, NOVA34 is 64 grams (approximately 25%) lighter than the Shimano Dura-Ace 11–34T cassette, while offering a comparable gear range for Shimano 12-speed road drivetrains.
ALUGEAR focused on optimizing every individual component to create the best possible balance between stiffness, durability and shifting quality.

At the heart of the cassette are 11 sprockets machined from a single block of premium Cr-Mo steel. This rigid monoblock construction provides precise sprocket alignment and consistent shifting, while the largest 34T sprocket is CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminium.

Every tooth profile, shift ramp and transition between sprockets has been developed and extensively tested to provide fast, precise and predictable shifting across the complete cassette.

The aluminium 34T sprocket, lockring and inner spacer are available in 10 anodized colours, combining high-performance engineering with distinctive ALUGEAR design.
