COMPATIBILITY

  • For cranks MTB SRAM 8 bolts Direct Mount axle type: DUB

  • In the case of using the 3mm offset chainring with MTB Standard axle type cranks, the chain line will be 52mm (the hub spacing (O.L.D.) is 148mm)

In the case of using the 3mm offset chainring with MTB WIDE axle type cranks, the chain line will be 55mm (the hub spacing (O.L.D.) is 148mm)

  • Compatible with SRAM T-Type Transmission

  • We have designed universal teeth that work with other chains as well: SRAM chains - 11sp, 12sp Eagle, 12sp T-Type;  Shimano chains - 11sp, 12sp HG+; KMC chains

INFORMATION

ALUGEAR is specialized in the production of high-quality bicycle components. We are one of the first who starts to produce 8-bolts MTB chainrings

Most have used a 3-bolts design for direct mount chainrings. But now the 8-bolts standard has come to be used for DUB MTB cranks and Power Meters more

We offer Оval and Round chainrings for 8-bolts cranks in several designs: AERO, Beach Ball, ELM, the large range tooth count of 26T-40T, and 8 color options

ALUGEAR chainrings are some of the lightest chainrings on the market. Using our experience and vigorous testing, we tweaked the arm design and strategically machined the chainrings so that only minimal sacrifices were made in impact strength in exchange for large gains in weight reduction

The chainrings are CNC machined from 7075 T6 aluminum and hard coat industrially anodized to provide protection from mechanical impacts, a good look, and an excellent tactile feel to each of the chainrings that lasts a long time
A unique tooth profile eliminates chain noise, reduces wear, and provides smooth operation on the entire system of all the most common combinations, such as 10, 11, and 12-speed drives. The Narrow Wide teeth guide the chain reliably

The tooth profile is specially designed for use with MTB chains

ALUGEAR chainrings are the best choice if you are looking for a technologically sound chainring with a unique design and low weight

RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Use the screw set M4x8mm to mount on the crank

  • We recommend the use of a clutch system rear derailleur for the best chain security

  • It is also a good idea to use a new chain with your new ALUGEAR chainring

  • It is recommended to use a well-lubricated chain on every ride

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

OPTIONS OF DIRECT MOUNT CRANKS

Most MTB cranksets have traditionally used a 3-bolts mounting, but the 8-bolts mounting has been used on the Quarq Power Meter cranks. Now some non-power meter SRAM MTB cranks use the 8-bolts mounting

CHAIN LINE

Chainline is measured from the axis of the centerline of the frame to the center of the tooth of the chainring

A correct chain line is when the middle of the front chainring and the middle of the cassette should be at the same distance from the axis that goes along the middle of the bicycle frame from the front to the back. That means the chain will run completely straight. However, sometimes we have to reduce the offset of large (> 36T) chainrings for MTB so that it fits into the frame and do not touch the chainstay

The hub spacing is measured from the outside faces of the end caps, where they come into contact with the frame's dropouts. The spacing dimension is commonly referred to as the "O.L.D." (Over-Lock-nut Distance)

Now the frame manufacturers produce Boost (148mm O.L.D.) spacing mountain bikes with a 55mm chain line (like the Scott Spark)

OFFSET

Offset is the distance from the chainring mounting surface to the outer edge of the wide tooth on the chainring. Variants of MTB chainrings Alugear
